RCMC Registration

The RCMC (Registration Cum Membership Certificate) is a crucial authorization document for businesses involved in the import and export of restricted products in accordance with the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP). Typically, these certificates are issued by Export Promotion Councils (EPCs), Commodity Boards, and Export Development Authorities designated by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

The RCMC serves as both proof of membership and registration with a specific EPC, commodity board, or export development authority. It is a prerequisite for availing concessions provided under the FTP for importing or exporting restricted goods.

Maske Brothers, as seasoned professionals in this field, can efficiently assist your business in securing RCMC registration. With our extensive experience, we offer end-to-end support for your RCMC registration needs.

Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC)

The Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) is a validation that an exporter is associated with products registered with an agency or organization authorized by the Indian Government. This certificate signifies the exporter’s registration with the designated agency or organization.

Why RCMC Registration?

RCMC registration serves multiple purposes:

1. It grants authorization for importing or exporting products falling under the restricted category according to the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP).
2. It stands as evidence of an exporter’s membership or registration with a specific EPC, commodity board, or export development authority.
3. It is a prerequisite for enjoying concessions provided under the FTP for the import or export of restricted goods.

Eligibility for RCMC Registration Online

Before applying for RCMC registration, the exporter or merchandiser must meet certain criteria:

1. The exporter or merchandiser must confirm that their business involves imports and exports.
2. They must have applied for an Import Export Code (IEC) from the authorized authority, which is regulated by the DGFT.

Benefits of RCMC

Obtaining a Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) provides several benefits to exporters:

1. Access to export promotion schemes and benefits, including Duty Drawback, Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS), and Market Access Initiative (MAI).
2. Streamlined import and export processes due to the validation of the exporter’s authenticity and product genuineness.
3. Simplified customs clearance, reducing time and effort.
4. Enhanced credibility, signaling compliance with government regulations and standards.
5. Access to market information and developments through export promotion activities and programs organized by Export Promotion Councils and Commodity Boards.

RCMC Registering Authorities

The Registering Authorities empowered by the DGFT to issue RCMC Certificates include Export Promotion Councils, Commodity Boards, and Export Development Authorities. These entities are responsible for promoting and developing India’s export industry, each focusing on a specific group of products.

The DGFT has authorized 35 organizations to issue RCMC certificates, comprising 27 Export Promotion Councils, 6 Commodity Boards, and 2 Development Authorities, each dedicated to promoting the import/export of restricted items.

Validity of RCMC

The RCMC is valid from April 1 of the licensing year when issued and remains valid for five years, ending on March 31.
